When a referral may be considered
Whole Warrior Solutions may consider brokered counselling referrals from an authorised organisation where the person is seeking trauma-informed counselling, the proposed work is within professional scope, and funding, consent, availability and practical arrangements are clear.
Support may focus on present-day wellbeing, relationships, grief, identity, safety, boundaries and the effects of historical child sexual abuse and neglect. It does not require a person to recount every detail of what happened.
Useful referral information
- The person’s knowledge of and consent to the referral
- Preferred name, pronouns and contact method
- Communication, cultural and accessibility needs
- The brokerage contact and written funding authority
- The broad purpose of counselling—without unnecessary detail
Before support begins
- Suitability and availability are discussed
- The person chooses whether to proceed
- Fees, approved sessions and reporting expectations are clarified
- Confidentiality and its limits are explained
- A service agreement or brokerage arrangement is confirmed
Client choice remains central
The person is not obliged to choose Whole Warrior Solutions because a referrer suggests it. They can ask questions, involve a support person by agreement, choose a different practitioner, decline canine-assisted sessions, pause or end support. A referral does not guarantee acceptance or create a service agreement.
Scope and limitations
